THE IMPORTANCE OF THE USE OF LABORATORIES IN THE NURSING COURSE

ABSTRACT:
INTRODUCTION: RECONCILING THEORY AND PRACTICE IS A MAJOR CHALLENGE IN ACADEMIC TRAINING. THE DAILY EXPERIENCE OF PRACTICES OF SIMULATION LABORATORIES OF PRACTICAL SKILLS BY THE NURSING COURSE OF A UNIVERSITY CENTER IN THE INTERIOR OF THE STATE OF GOI�S LED THE INQUIRY INTO UNDERSTANDING HOW THE UNDERGRADUATE NURSING STUDENTS DESCRIBE THE EXPERIENCE OF USING THE LABORATORIES FOR LEARNING AND PRACTICAL SKILLS RELEVANT TO THEIR TRAINING. THE LABORATORY USED BY NURSING ALLOWS THE STUDENTS THE CHANCE TO EXPERIENCE SCENARIOS STUDIED IN THE CLASSROOM, USING SIMULATORS AND THE GUIDANCE OF TEACHERS, NURSES AND MONITORS. STUDENTS PERFORM IN THIS LEARNING ENVIRONMENT PROCEDURES AND TECHNIQUES IN PRACTICE TO BETTER PREPARE FOR THE CHALLENGES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THE PROFESSION IN PRACTICAL FIELDS SUCH AS HOSPITALS. OBJECTIVE: TO DESCRIBE HOW PROFESSIONALS RESPONSIBLE FOR DEVELOPING PRACTICAL ACTIVITIES PERCEIVE TO STUDENTS THE IMPORTANCE OF USING THE NURSING LABS OF A UNIVERSITY CENTER. METHOD: THIS IS AN EXPERIENCE REPORT. IT WAS DESCRIBED IN THIS REPORT THE EXPERIENCE OF A NURSE TEACHER WHO TEACHES COURSES IN THE LABORATORIES OF THE NURSING COURSE AND OF A NURSE WHO IS A LABORATORY TECHNICIAN AND DEVELOPS HELP TO THE STUDENTS THROUGH TUTORIALS WITH THE OBSERVATION OF THE SPEECHES OF STUDENTS WHO USED THE LABORATORIES. RESULTS: IT IS VERY STRIKING THAT MOST OF THE STUDENTS ATTRIBUTE SUCCESS IN THE PROVISION OF DIRECT CUSTOMER SERVICE TO THE EXCELLENT STRUCTURE OF THE LABORATORIES, THE COMPETENCE AND EXPERIENCE OF THE TEACHERS, THE MONITORS OF THE DISCIPLINES WHO ARE STUDENTS SELECTED IN THE SELECTION PROCESS FOR THIS ACTIVITY AND ALSO TO THE FACT THAT NURSES HAVE NURSING SKILLS LABS THAT ARE TRAINED TO FOLLOW UP AND PERFORM ALL THE ACTIVITIES THAT CAN BE DEVELOPED IN THE LABORATORY. IT IS CLEAR THAT STUDENTS UNDERSTAND HOW IMPORTANT IT IS TO USE THE LABORATORY NOT JUST FOR THE SUBJECTS TO BE COMPLETED. THE IMPORTANCE IS IN THE SUPPORT FOR FREEDOM OF USE OF THESE LABORATORIES, WITH PROFESSIONALS AND MONITORS QUALIFIED FOR THE ACCOMPANIMENTS. REALIZE THAT THIS IS A CONTRIBUTING FACTOR SO THAT WHERE NECESSARY, KNOWLEDGE CAN BE IMPROVED WITH EXCELLENCE. THEY UNDERSTAND THE IMPORTANCE OF USING THE LABORATORIES FOR A GOOD PROFESSIONAL TRAINING AIMED AT THE SAFETY OF THE PROFESSIONAL AND THE PATIENT. IT IS EVIDENT THAT THE STUDENTS UNDERSTAND HOW IMPORTANT IT IS TO USE THE LABORATORY NOT ONLY FOR THE DISCIPLINES TO BE COMPLETED. THE IMPORTANCE IS IN THE SUPPORT FOR FREEDOM OF USE OF THESE LABORATORIES, WITH PROFESSIONALS AND MONITORS QUALIFIED FOR THE ACCOMPANIMENTS. REALIZE THAT THIS IS A CONTRIBUTING FACTOR SO THAT WHERE NECESSARY, KNOWLEDGE CAN BE IMPROVED WITH EXCELLENCE. THEY UNDERSTAND THE IMPORTANCE OF THE USE OF LABORATORIES FOR A GOOD PROFESSIONAL TRAINING AIMED AT THE SAFETY OF THE PROFESSIONAL AND THE PATIENT. CONCLUSION: THE LABORATORIES USED BY NURSING DESERVE TO BE SEEN AND TREATED BY THE TEACHERS, STUDENTS AND ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF OF THEIR INSTITUTION WITH ALL IMPORTANCE. IT SHOULD BE CONSIDERED AS A TEACHING-LEARNING ENVIRONMENT, AND NOT AS A ROOM OF INANIMATE MANNEQUINS AND MATERIALS, CONSIDERED AS A PLACE OF OPPORTUNITY TO OBSERVE, EXECUTE, ERR, CORRECT AND RETRANSMIT ACQUIRED KNOWLEDGE. IT ALLOWS THE STUDENT TO HAVE A PREVIOUS CONTACT WITH THE PRACTICE, ALSO ALLOWS THE STUDENT TO RECOGNIZE IN ADVANCE THE STUDENT WILL PARTICIPATE IN THE HOSPITAL FIELD IN THE FUTURE.
