THE CONSTRUCTION OF INCLUSION IN HIGHER EDUCATION WITH LOVE AND RESPECT
Abstract
ACCESSIBILITY AND INCLUSION IN HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS IS ONE WAY OF GUARANTEEING EVERYONE THE RIGHT TO EDUCATION. IT IS A POLITICAL, SOCIO-CULTURAL AND PEDAGOGICAL ACTION, TRIGGERED IN DEFENSE OF THE RIGHT OF ALL ACADEMICS TO BE TOGETHER, LEARNING AND PARTICIPATING WITHOUT DISCRIMINATION OF ORIGIN, RACE, SEX, COLOR, AGE, SOCIAL CONDITION, DISABILITY OR ANY OTHER THAT PUTS IT IN CONDITION OF VULNERABILITY. INCLUSIVE EDUCATION HAS BEEN A SUBJECT OF REFLECTION AND LONGING FOR EDUCATORS WHO ADVOCATE RESPECT FOR HUMAN DIGNITY, IN ORDER TO CONSIDER ONESELF AND ANOTHER AS A PERSON THAT HAS ITS OWN VALUE. IT IS NECESSARY TO UNDERSTAND THAT DIVERSITY IS A SOCIAL CONSTRUCTION, WHICH MEANS THAT DISTINCTIONS DO NOT EXIST IN THEMSELVES; IT IS US AS A SOCIETY THAT WE CONSTRUCT THE PARAMETERS OF WHAT IS UGLY, BEAUTIFUL, STRANGE AND CORRECT. THE KEY POINT OF THE DISCUSSION ABOUT DIVERSITY IS ACTING ON SOCIAL MECHANISMS THAT TRANSFORM DIFFERENCES INTO INEQUALITIES; UNDERSTANDING THEM IS KEY TO ESTABLISHING NEW PRACTICES. INCLUSION IS THE BEST EXAMPLE: THUS, THE DIFFERENT TAKES PLACE IN SOCIETY, WHEN SOMEONE WHO HAS DIFFERENT CHARACTERISTICS OF THE MAJORITY IS INCLUDED. THEY OPEN DOORS OF SHARING, LEARNING AND EXPERIENCES. THE PURPOSE OF THE WORK IS TO PRESENT THIS THEME THROUGH AN ARTISTIC STAGING OF A POEM BY THE AUTHOR BR�ULIO BESSA IN ORDER TO TALK ABOUT DIVERSITY AND MAKES US REFLECT HOW IMPORTANT IT IS THAT YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO HAVE AN OPINION AND TO DISAGREE, WITH RESPECT.
