PROPRIEDADES TERAPÊUTICAS DOS COMPOSTOS DO TIPO CANNABIGEROL: UMA REVISÃO

A busca por compostos farmacologicamente ativos e que não apresentem efeitos tóxicos, intensifica os estudos e pesquisas sobre material de origem vegetal e seu potencial uso na farmacoterapia. Uma das plantas que tem grande potencial terapêutico e tem sido bastante estudada ultimamente é a Cannabis sativa. Os compostos mais conhecidos são o Δ9 tetraidrocanabinol (Δ9-THC) e o canabidiol (CBD), onde o Δ9-THC é o principal componente psicoativo, responsável pelos efeitos eufóricos da canabis. Mas atualmente, a atenção tem sido voltada aos fitocanabinoides que não apresentam atividade psicoativa, mas que mesmo assim, modificam o metabolismo celular beneficamente, como o CBD e mais recentemente, o CBG, que é o precursor de outros canabinoides, e por isso é encontrado em menor quantidade na planta.
