TO DESCRIBE THE RISKS AND HARMS OF SMOKING IN ORAL HEALTH, DEMONSTRATE THE DAMAGE CAUSED TO SMOKING PATIENTS, IDENTIFY AND ANALYZE POSSIBLE COMPLICATIONS AND SUGGEST GREATER INTEGRATION OF DENTISTS IN THE GROUPS PREVALENT IN SMOKING. TOBACCO USE CONTRIBUTES TO THE APPEARANCE OF SEVERAL ORAL DISEASES AND CAN NEGATIVELY REFLECT ON THE GENERAL HEALTH OF THE PATIENT, AS IT CONTAINS TOXIC SUBSTANCES, IS ADDICTIVE AND IS A RISK FACTOR FOR SEVERE DISEASES. AMONG THE MAIN DISEASES CAUSED BY TOBACCO ARE CANCER AND PERIODONTAL DISEASE, SINCE TOBACCO DESTROYS CELLS AND REDUCES THE CHANCES OF HEALING. UPON SUCH FINDING, IN THE INTERACTION WITH A SMOKING PATIENT IT IS NECESSARY TO DEMONSTRATE AND CLARIFY IN DETAIL THE EVILS CAUSED BY TOBACCO. PROVIDING WAYS TO INTERRUPT HABITS, EITHER WITH MEDICATION, OR STIMULATION SO THAT THE PATIENT DOES NOT RETURN TO SMOKING. PROVIDING THE PATIENT AND THE DENTAL CLINIC ENVIRONMENT WITH THE PROVISION OF SERVICE AND QUALITY OF LIFE.
