ENDODONTIC FAILURE CAN BE DEFINED AS THE INABILITY OF ENDODONTIC TREATMENT TO ELIMINATE MICROORGANISMS EXISTING IN THE SCR (ROOT CANAL SYSTEM), MAKING THIS RESIDUAL MICROBIOTA INCOMPATIBLE WITH THE INDIVIDUAL'S HEALTH STATUS AND MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO REPAIR PERIRADICULAR TISSUES, IN EXISTENCE OF POST-TREATMENT PERIRADICULAR LESIONS¹. IN ORDER TO DISCUSS AND UNDERSTAND THE FAILURE IN ENDODONTIC TREATMENT, A SURVEY WAS CONDUCTED ON THE MAIN CAUSES THAT CAN LEAD TO FAILURE, AND THE BEST WAYS TO AVOID IT. A SET OF TECHNIQUES IS NECESSARY FOR SUCCESS IN ENDODONTIC TREATMENT, USING ALL THE MECHANICAL MANEUVERS OF THE INSTRUMENTS AND CONSTITUTED SUBSTANCES. THE PRESENT STUDY WILL DISCUSS THESE MANEUVERS AND TECHNIQUES THAT HELP THE DENTAL SURGEON, AMONG THEM THE INOVATIONS THAT INFLUENCE THE RETREATMENT STRATEGY, SUCH AS THE USE OF COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY. INDICATE THE CARE THAT THE DENTAL SURGEON MUST TAKE WHEN PERFORMING THIS PROCEDURE, AIMING TO QUALIFY AND OBTAIN SUCCESS DURING AND AFTER ENDODONTIC TREATMENT, SO THAT RETREATMENT IS NOT NECESSARY.
