Abstract

ABSTRACT: THE REGENERATION AND HEALING OF SOFT TISSUES OCCUR THROUGH VARIOUS MOLECULAR MECHANISMS, THOROUGHLY STUDIED BY SPECIALISTS. IN DENTISTRY, THE REGENERATION OF ORAL TISSUES HAS A GREAT IMPACT ON THE PROPOSED TREATMENT, GIVING THAT IT MAY HELP WITH THE EXTINCTION OF SIDE EFFECTS GENERATED BY COMORBIDITIES. MANY ALTERNATIVES HAVE BEEN TESTED THROUGHOUT TIME TO AID GINGIVAL RECESSION, AMONGST THEM, THE USE OF FIBRE MEMBRANE IN PLATELETS AND LEUKOCYTES (L-PRF). THIS PAPERS MAIN GOAL IS TO REVIEW THE LITERATURE ON THE USE OF THIS BIOMATERIAL IN MOLECULAR OVERLAYING, THEREBY FACILITATING SCIENTIFIC BACKGROUND TO STUDENTS AND PROFESSIONALS IN THE DENTISTRY FIELD, AND ENABLING A GREATER UNDERSTANDING AND CLINICAL APPLICABILITY OF L-PRF.
