Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

Title and subtitle: must be separated by a colon and in the language of the text, IN UPPERCASE, ARIAL, 12, JUSTIFIED, UP TO 15 Words.


TITLE AND SUBTITLE, IN PORTUGUESE AND ENGLISH, IN UPPERCASE, ARIAL, 12, JUSTIFIED.

 


Abstract: In the language of the text: must be presented in the third person singular, in the active voice and written in a single paragraph, with a length of 150 to 350 words. Arial,10.

Keywords: In the language of the text. Words that represent the main subjects dealt with in the text according to DECS (https://decs.bvsalud.org/), between 3 and 5 words; must appear right below the abstract, preceded by the expression Keywords: separated from each other by a semicolon, with the first letter capitalized and ending with a period. Arial, 10.

 


Abstract: Abstract in English; version of the abstract in the language of the text for the language of international dissemination, using the same characteristics.

Keywords: version of the keywords in the text language for the English language.

 


1 Basic guidelines for writing the article

The article must be unpublished, following the journal's editorial line. Submissions of complete manuscripts that have been published in annals of symposia, congresses, etc., as well as articles translated from foreign scientific journals must not be submitted. Any questions must be communicated to the editor: e-mail.

Articles submitted to the Revista em Saúde, through the XXXXXXXXX website, must meet the following criteria.

The file (.DOCx extension) to be submitted to Revista em Saúde must not contain the name(s) of the author(s), to ensure the integrity of the evaluation in the Review by double blind peers (Double-blind peer review).

In the submission metadata (Revista em Saúde platform) - The complete data of the author(s) must be informed - Name, title, place of work, full postal address, e-mail and ORCID must be completed in the submission of the article. Submissions without complete completion of the author(s) metadata will be archived.

For illustrations (photographs, maps, graphs, charts, flowcharts, organization charts, diagrams, diagrams, among others) must be included in the body of the article. Scanned images must have a resolution of at least 300 dpi. The illustrations and tables must be numbered according to their respective references in the body of the text, and the titles, written without abbreviations, presenting the reference font in size 12 and 1.5 spacing. All tables and illustrations must present the source of data.

1.1 Page Layout

Articles must be written in A4 format, 2.5 cm margins, Arial font 12 and 1.5 line spacing throughout the text.

1.2 Indentation and spacing[1]


The titles (topics) must respect the indentation of "0 cm" and the other paragraphs of the texts must present indentation 1.5 cm (Before 0; After 8 pt) with the exception of illustrations, tables, notes and direct quotes in indentation, whose fonts The text must be justified.

1.3 Numbering and number of words in the text

Page numbering should be done in Arial font, 12, right alignment, bottom.

The articles must present number of words according to the type: review article – 4000 words, original articles – 3500 and experience report – 3000.

2 ELEMENTS

2.1 Textual

2.1.1 Introduction: It should briefly address the problem studied, justifying its importance and knowledge gaps, based on updated national and international literature. The Objective, presented at the end of the introduction, should establish the main question of the study and be the same as that presented in the abstract.

2.1.2 Method: must specify:  type of study (specifying the approach and design); study site (describe setting, if relevant); study participants (population and sample), with definition of selection criteria (inclusion and exclusion); Data collection – instrument(s) and collection procedures (collection period and description of steps); Analysis and processing procedures for quanti and/or qualitative data; Ethical aspects (description of ethical aspects and include the opinion number of the Research Ethics Committee).

2.1.3 Results: must present and describe only the data found, without interpretations or comments. They may be accompanied by tables, charts and figures, without data repetition. In case of statements (sentences or paragraphs said by the qualitative research subjects), use italics and present them in a new paragraph, indented to the Right, paragraph 1.0 line (simple) and letter 10. The identification of the subjects must be coded and be in parentheses, without italics, in order to preserve their identity.

2.1.4 Discussion: It should be restricted to the results presented, emphasizing new and relevant aspects observed in the study and discussing agreements and divergences with national and international literature.

2.1.5 Study Limitations: must be presented succinctly at the end of the discussion.

2.1.6 Conclusion or Final Considerations: must be clear and objective, responding directly to the objectives and/or hypotheses of the study, based on the results and discussion. They must not contain references.

The experience report must follow the format:

Introduction, with the objective at the end;
Methodology with the following topics: type of study, study setting, period of experience, subjects involved in the experience and ethical aspects;
Experience Objectives;
Description of Experience: moments, actions and practices developed, decisions, technologies or strategies used;
Main results achieved;
Limitations of experience;
Contributions to practice;
Final considerations.

 


3 TABLES, FIGURES, GRAPHICS

Scanned images must have a resolution of at least 300 dpi. The illustrations and tables must be numbered according to their respective references in the body of the text, and the titles, written without abbreviations, presenting the reference font in size 12 and 1.5 cm spacing.

 


4 SECTION, SUBSECTION AND PROGRESSIVE NUMBERING INDICATIONS

 


According to NBR 6024:2012 – Information and documentation – progressive numbering of sections of a document – ​​the numeric code (always Arabic), aligned to the left, separated by a space without a period preceding the title. Ex.: 1.2 - It reads: one two.

In academic works, chapters are not used, but sections and subsections are used. Example:

Must be entered before References. The author thanks the professors, companies, institutions, laboratories, etc., who collaborated in the elaboration of the work.

For the list of references, they must be presented at the end of the work, single spaced, according to the citation in the text, and follow the Vancouver style available at the electronic address (https://www.nlm.nih.gov/bsd/uniform_requirements .html).

Citations in the text must be superscript, without italics, separated by hyphens, for example: 1-3.
