ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI) IS A FIELD OF COMPUTER SCIENCE THAT MIMICS THE PROCESSES OF HUMAN THOUGHT, THE CAPACITY FOR LEARNING, AND THE STORAGE OF KNOWLEDGE. CURRENTLY, MEDICINE HAS USED AI TO IMPROVE DIAGNOSIS, PROGNOSIS AND TREATMENT IN SEVERAL OF ITS AREAS, SUCH AS NEUROLOGY, ONCOLOGY, CARDIOLOGY AND DERMATOLOGY. THUS, IT REVEALS MANY BENEFITS TO HUMAN HEALTH WHEN IT COMES TO PROVIDING GREATER ACCURACY IN PREDICTING THE COURSE OF THE DISEASE, MAINTAINING TREATMENT PERFORMANCE AND MINIMIZING RISKS TO THE PATIENT. THE AIM OF THIS PAPER WAS TO GATHER ARTICLES, WHICH WERE SEARCHED IN THE PUBMED DATABASE, DEMONSTRATING THE USE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN SEVERAL BRANCHES OF MEDICINE AND, THUS, TO DEMONSTRATE THAT MACHINE LEARNING (ML) PROVIDES A WAY TO IMPROVE ACCURACY AND RELIABILITY OF DIAGNOSTIC MODALITIES AND HAS THE POTENTIAL TO CONTRIBUTE SIGNIFICANTLY TO ACHIEVING THE GOAL OF PRECISION MEDICINE.
