Author Guidelines

Revista em Saúde publishes original work in the health sciences, produced within the Nursing, Dentistry, and Psychology programs of the Centro Universitário Evangélico de Goianésia (UNIEGO) and by researchers from other institutions in Brazil and abroad.

From this issue onward, every manuscript must be prepared using the journal's official template, which already contains the required formatting (font, spacing, margins, and styles). Authors only fill in the content in the indicated sections.

1. Files to submit

Each submission consists of two files:

  1. Manuscript (.docx, in the journal template), without any author identification. Names, affiliations, acknowledgments, and any mention that could reveal authorship must be omitted to preserve double-blind peer review.
  2. Title page (separate file), containing the article type, the title in Portuguese and English, authors and affiliations, the corresponding author (email and phone), the abstract, and the keywords. It is the first page of the template and must be submitted as a separate document.

2. Manuscript types

Research article (original), review article, short communication, and experience or case report. State the type in the first line of the manuscript.

3. Manuscript structure

Abstract and keywords (on the title page):

  • A single, informative paragraph of 150 to 250 words, covering the objective, method, main results, and conclusion.
  • 3 to 10 representative keywords, separated by semicolons.
  • The title, abstract, and keywords should be provided in both Portuguese and English.

Main text:

  • Introduction: sets the context, identifies the knowledge gap, and ends with the study objective.
  • Materials and Methods: describes the study in enough detail to allow reproduction (type and design, setting, participants and criteria, data collection and analysis). State the availability of data, materials, and code. Studies involving humans or animals must indicate the approving institution and the Research Ethics Committee approval (protocol) number.
  • Results: presents the findings objectively, using subheadings, tables, and figures as needed, without duplicating data.
  • Discussion: critically interprets the results and compares them with the relevant literature.
  • Conclusions: address the objectives directly, are based on the results, and contain no citations.

Back matter (when applicable): Patents; Supplementary material; Author contributions (the CRediT taxonomy is recommended); Funding, with grant numbers; Acknowledgments; Conflict of interest statement; and Abbreviations, spelled out at first occurrence.

4. Figures, tables, and equations

  • Placed in the body of the text, near the first citation, and numbered sequentially (Figure 1, Table 1, etc.).
  • All must be cited in the text and include a caption and the data source; tables may carry footnotes for symbols and remarks.
  • Figures at a minimum resolution of 300 dpi; equations numbered sequentially.
