Abstract

AN IMPORTANT STEP TO AVOID A DROP IN PRODUCTIVITY IS THE SPRAYING OF PESTICIDES TO CONTROL PESTS AND DISEASES. AGRICULTURAL PESTICIDES ARE GENERALLY HIGH-COST PRODUCTS THAT CAN POSE A RISK TO THE ENVIRONMENT, THEREFORE, FOR A CORRECT APPLICATION, WITH LOW RISK OF CONTAMINATION AND PRODUCT LOSS, IT IS NECESSARY THAT THE SPRAYERS ARE IN PERFECT CONDITIONS OF USE. THIS WORK AIMED TO INSPECT HYDRAULIC SPRAYERS IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF SILVNIA, GOIS. QUESTIONNAIRES WERE APPLIED TO EVALUATE THE WORKFORCE AND SPRAYERS USED IN THIS MUNICIPALITY. THE ITEMS EVALUATED IN THE SPRAYER WERE RELATED TO ITS CORRECT FUNCTIONING, SUCH AS PRESSURE GAUGE, SPRAY TANK, HOSES, FILTERS, TIPS AND NOZZLE SPACING. IN RELATION TO THE WORKFORCE, ITEMS THAT DEMONSTRATE THEIR QUALIFICATION REGARDING THE APPLICATION OF PESTICIDES WERE EVALUATED. SPRAYERS COULD BE CLASSIFIED AS BAD, FAIR, GOOD, VERY GOOD OR EXCELLENT, ACCORDING TO THE GRADE THEY RECEIVED AT THE END OF THE INSPECTION. IT WAS NOTED THAT THERE IS A LACK OF TRAINING OF THE WORKFORCE TO APPLY PESTICIDES IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF SILVNIA, GOIS. MOST OF THE SPRAYERS INSPECTED WERE QUALIFIED BETWEEN €ŒREGULAR€ AND €ŒGOOD€, WHICH REFLECTS THE WRONG USE OF PESTICIDES.
