Abstract

THE OBJECTIVE OF THIS RESEARCH WORK WAS TO IDENTIFY THE IDEAL DOSAGE OF PHOSPHORUS FOR THE ARUGULA (ERUCA SATIVA MILLER) CULTURE IN AN OXISOL. THE EXPERIMENT WAS CARRIED OUT IN THE SCHOOL FARM AREA OF €‹€‹THE EVANGELICAL COLLEGE OF GOIANSIA, LOCATED IN THE SÃO PATRCIO VALLEY. THE EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN WAS A RANDOMIZED BLOCK WITH 4 DOSES OF PHOSPHORUS (P). EACH PLOT CONSISTED OF A 5 DM POT. -3. THE CULTIVAR LARGA LARGA (SAKATA ®) WAS USED. THE MORPHOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS EVALUATED WERE PLANT HEIGHT (AP), NUMBER OF LEAVES (NF), LEAF LENGTH (CF), LEAF WIDTH (LF), FRESH PARTIAL MASS (MFPA), DRY PARTIAL MASS (MSPA) , FRESH ROOT MASS (MFR) AND DRY ROOT MASS (MSR). IN GENERAL FOR ALL CHARACTERISTICS EVALUATED THERE WAS NO SIGNIFICANT EFFECT, THE CROP DID NOT RESPOND TO PHOSPHATE FERTILIZATION, SO THE ARUGULA IS A FAIRLY FAST CROP, IT IS SUGGESTED THAT IN HIGH FERTILITY SOILS, THE FERTILIZATION OF THIS CROP WITH PHOSPHORUS (P‚‚O‚…) CAN BE WAIVED. HOWEVER, FURTHER EXPERIMENTS SHOULD BE PERFORMED TO BETTER CONSOLIDATE THE PHOSPHATE FERTILIZATION OF THE ARUGULA.
