Abstract

IN GRASSES THE ASSOCIATION WITH DIAZOTROPHIC BACTERIA OCCURS WITHOUT THE FORMATION OF A SPECIALIZED STRUCTURE FOR NITROGEN FIXATION. THESE BENEFICIAL MICROORGANISMS CAN IMPROVE PLANT PERFORMANCE UNDER STRESS CONDITIONS AND THEREBY INCREASE CROP YIELDS WITHOUT CAUSING FURTHER DAMAGE TO THE ENVIRONMENT. THIS STUDY AIMS TO EVALUATE THE MORPHOLOGICAL AND PRODUCTIVE ASPECTS OF TWO CULTIVARS OF PANICUM MAXIMUM (MOMBASA AND ZURI) INOCULATED WITH (AZOASPIRILLUM AND NITROSPIRILLUM). THE EXPERIMENT WAS CARRIED OUT AT THE FARM SCHOOL OF THE AGRONOMY COURSE OF THE EVANGELICAL COLLEGE OF GOIANSIA. THE TREATMENTS WERE DISTRIBUTED IN DOUBLE FACTORIAL DBC (2X3). REGARDING THE VARIABLE OF FRESH MASS AND DRY MASS AZOSPIRILLUM TREATMENTS OBTAINED SIGNIFICANT RESPONSE IN RELATION TO THE OTHERS, WHILE AMONG THE EVALUATED CULTIVARS ZURI WAS MORE RESPONSIVE. IN THE EVALUATION OF NUMBER OF TOTAL LEAVES, NUMBER OF TOTAL TILLERS, NUMBER OF LEAVES PER TILLER, YIELD IN GR / M² OF FRESH AND DRY MASS, TOTAL FRESH MASS PRODUCTION T HA-1, TOTAL DRY MATTER T HA-1, AND PERCENTAGE OF DRY MATTER, THE TREATMENT WITH AZOSPIRILLUM WAS SUPERIOR TO NITROSPIRILLUM, IN CULTIVARS EVALUATION THE ZURI WAS SUPERIOR TO MOMBASA.
