Abstract

THE RUGULA IS A VEGETABLE THAT STANDS OUT FOR ITS NUTRITIONAL COMPOSITION, RELEVANT IN HUMAN FOOD, BECAUSE IT IS RICH IN MINERALS SUCH AS POTASSIUM, SULFUR AND IRON, IN ADDITION TO VITAMINS A AND C. THE CROP IN QUESTION NEEDS PLENTY OF NUTRIENTS FOR ITS PRODUCTION, AND ONE OF THESE NUTRIENTS WHICH THE CROP REQUIRES IN LARGE QUANTITIES IS NITROGEN BEING THE SECOND MOST USED IN THE CROP. THE OBJECTIVE OF THIS STUDY WAS TO EVALUATE THE EFFECT OF DIFFERENT NITROGEN DOSES ON THE AGRONOMIC AND YIELD CHARACTERISTICS OF ARUGULA. THE EXPERIMENT WAS CONDUCTED IN THE CITY OF GOIANSIA. THE EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN WAS A RANDOMIZED BLOCK DESIGN WITH FIVE REPLICATIONS. FOUR TREATMENTS WERE EVALUATED: 0 KG HA-1, 100 KG HA-1, 150 KG HA-1 AND 200 KG HA-1. THE MORPHOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS EVALUATED WERE: PLANT HEIGHT, NUMBER OF LEAVES, LEAF AND ROOT LENGTH, LEAF WIDTH, STEM DIAMETER, DRY AND FRESH SHOOT MASS, DRY AND FRESH ROOT MASS, AND TOTAL DRY PLANT WEIGHT. AND FRESH. VARIANCE ANALYSIS WAS PERFORMED, AND WHEN THE PARAMETERS WERE SIGNIFICANT, REGRESSION ANALYSIS WAS PERFORMED. INCREASING NITROGEN RATES WERE POSITIVELY PRONOUNCED ON LEAF NUMBER, LEAF LENGTH, LEAF WIDTH, STEM DIAMETER, FRESH AND DRY SHOOT MASS, FRESH AND DRY ROOT MASS, TOTAL DRY AND FRESH PLANT WEIGHT. THUS, IT CAN BE CONCLUDED THAT THE HIGHEST NITROGEN DOSAGE (200 KG HA-1) PRESENTED THE BEST RESULTS, BEING THE MOST SUITABLE FOR ARUGULA PRODUCTION.
