Abstract

SOYBEAN PRODUCTION IS GREATLY INFLUENCED BY FUNGAL ATTACK, AND WHEN THEY ARE IN OPTIMAL CONDITIONS FOR ITS DEVELOPMENT, INFECTION AND DISSEMINATION OF THIS PATHOGEN IS VERY RAPID, WHICH RESULTS IN DECREASED PLANT YIELD POTENTIAL AND, CONSEQUENTLY, DECREASED CROP PRODUCTIVITY. . MUCH OF THE COST OF SOY FARMING IS RELATED TO FUNGAL DISEASES, AND A MAJOR ECONOMIC DISEASE OF SOYBEANS IS ASIAN RUST. COSTS DUE TO LOSSES AND FUNGICIDE APPLICATIONS WERE $ 2.2 BILLION PER CROP. AND SITE-SPECIFIC FUNGICIDES ARE USED IN DISEASE CONTROL, EXAMPLES OF THE MODE OF ACTION USED ARE DEMETHYLATION INHIBITORS (KNOWN AS TRIAZOLES), EXTERNAL QUINONE INHIBITORS (STROBILURINS) AND SUCCINATE DEHYDROGENASE INHIBITORS (CARBOXAMIDES). THUS, THE OBJECTIVE WAS TO EVALUATE THE COST-BENEFIT RATIO OF APPLYING DIFFERENT FUNGICIDE ACTIVE INGREDIENTS IN SOYBEAN CROP. A RANDOMIZED BLOCK DESIGN (DBC) WAS USED, WITH 12 TREATMENTS AND 4 REPLICATIONS, WITH A TOTAL OF 48 PLOTS. EACH PLOT OF THE EXPERIMENT CONSISTED OF 6 LINES OF 5 M IN LENGTH, WITH SPACING OF 0.45 M BETWEEN LINES. THE BEST RESULTS FOR THE PRODUCTIVITY VARIABLE WERE OBTAINED BY USING THE FUNGICIDE ATIVUM, FUSION AND PRIORI XTRA; FOR PRODUCTION COSTING, THE BEST RESULTS WERE OBTAINED WITH THE USE OF THE APROACH PRIMA, PRIORI XTRA AND HOROS FUNGICIDES, AND FOR FINANCIAL RETURN, THE BEST RESULTS WERE OBTAINED WITH THE PRIORI XTRA AND FUSION PRODUCTS.
