THE MAIN OBJECTIVE OF VIBRATION ANALYSIS IN MECHANICAL ELEMENTS IS TO PREDICT AND PREVENT BREAKDOWNS, AS WELL AS TO PROLONG THE LIFE OF THE EQUIPMENT OR SYSTEM. TO ACHIEVE THIS OBJECTIVE, IT IS NECESSARY TO CARRY OUT FREQUENT MONITORING OF THE REAL OPERATING CONDITIONS, IN THIS WAY IT IS POSSIBLE TO IDENTIFY DEFECTS THAT, IN ADVANCED STAGES, CAN CAUSE FAILURE. ONE OF THE PRINCIPLES OF PREDICTIVE MAINTENANCE IS TO ANALYZE THE EQUIPMENT IN ITS REGULAR WORKING REGIME, AND THIS FACTOR IS PRECISELY ONE OF THE GREAT ADVANTAGES OF APPLYING THE PREDICTIVE APPROACH, SINCE IT DOES NOT INTERFERE WITH PRODUCTION. THE USE OF THE VIBRATION ANALYSIS TECHNIQUE IN BEARINGS PROVIDES ACUTELY IMPORTANT RESULTS, IDENTIFYING ANY ANOMALIES. ROTATING BEARINGS, WHEN OPERATING, EXERT SOME DYNAMIC FORCES THAT PROPAGATE THROUGHOUT THE HOUSING, AND SOME EFFORTS CAN BE CONSIDERED IN THE ELABORATION OF PROJECTS, HOWEVER, NUMEROUS FACTORS DURING ASSEMBLY OR FIELD ACTIVITY CAN LEAD TO UNDESIRABLE REACTIONS, SUCH AS MISALIGNMENTS. , UNBALANCES, CLEARANCES, SHAFT WARPING, WHICH MAY CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE JOINT SHAFT/BEARING SYSTEM OR EVEN TO OTHER PARTS OF THE COMPONENTS THAT ARE INTERCONNECTED TO THE SYSTEM. IN THE PRESENT WORK, VIBRATION PATTERNS IN NEW AND WORN ROTARY BEARINGS WERE ANALYZED, USING A VIBRATION COLLECTOR/ANALYSER, EVALUATING THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN BOTH SITUATIONS, WITH RESPECT TO THE PARAMETERS OF VIBRATION AMPLITUDE.
