Abstract

THE SUGAR-ALCOHOL INDUSTRY SECTOR IS OF PARAMOUNT IMPORTANCE FOR NATIONAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, AS IT IS WIDELY USED BOTH IN TERMS OF THE SUPPLY OF SUGAR FOR CONSUMPTION BY THE BRAZILIAN POPULATION, AND IN THE APPLICATION IN THE FUEL INDUSTRY. LIKE ANY PRODUCTION PROCESS, THE PRODUCTION OF SUGAR IN THE INDUSTRY ALSO PRESENTS BOTTLENECKS, SUCH AS MACHINERY STOPS. THE PRESENT WORK AIMS TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS PRODUCTION PROCESS, PROPOSING IMPROVEMENTS IN THE AVAILABILITY OF EQUIPMENT THROUGH MAINTENANCE PLANNING, USING THE TECHNIQUES OF TOTAL PRODUCTIVE MAINTENANCE - TPM. THE MAIN PREVENTIVE ACTIVITY APPLIED WAS THE ELABORATION OF INSPECTION ROUTES FOR ALL MACHINES IN THE PACKAGING SECTOR. APPLYING THIS TECHNIQUE, IT WAS POSSIBLE TO IDENTIFY THE MAIN BOTTLENECKS IN THE PRODUCTION PROCESS, WHICH WERE CORRECTED THROUGH PREVENTIVE AND PREDICTIVE MAINTENANCE. THROUGH THE TECHNIQUES APPLIED, IN AN INTERVAL OF A HARVEST, JALLES MACHADO REDUCED 87.6% OF THE BREAKS FROM THE YEAR 2020 TO THE YEAR 2021, WHICH LED TO A CONSIDERABLE INCREASE IN THE AVAILABILITY OF EQUIPMENT, REDUCING ITS LOSSES DUE TO UNPRODUCTIVITY IN VALUES APPROACHING R$ 42 MILLION.
