Abstract

THE PRESENT WORK DEALS WITH THE VERIFICATION OF THE IMPROVEMENT OF THE ENERGY EFFICIENCY OF A THERMOELECTRIC PLANT, LOCATED IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF GOIAN�SIA, IN THE STATE OF GOI�S, WHICH USES SUGARCANE BAGASSE AND STRAW AS A SOURCE OF ENERGY FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF A NEW TURBOGENERATOR. THE GENERAL OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY WAS BASED ON THE ENERGY ANALYSIS OF A THERMOELECTRIC PLANT IN THE INTERIOR OF GOI�S, IN ORDER TO OBTAIN INFORMATION ON THE EFFICIENCY OF STEAM TURBINES, VALUES �€‹�€‹OF STEAM ALLOWED, AS WELL AS THE VALUES �€‹�€‹OF PRODUCTION OF ELECTRICITY GENERATED IN RECENT YEARS, IN ORDER TO VERIFY IF THE INSTALLATION OF THE EXTRACTION-CONDENSATION TURBINE IMPROVED THE ENERGY EFFICIENCY IN THE PLANT. REGARDING THE METHODOLOGY, IT IS AN EXPLORATORY RESEARCH, WITH A QUANTITATIVE FOCUS, THROUGH A CASE STUDY. FROM THE THERMODYNAMIC STUDIES CARRIED OUT, IT WAS POSSIBLE TO VERIFY THAT THERE WAS AN IMPROVEMENT IN ENERGY EFFICIENCY, WITH THE IMPLEMENTATION OF A NEW TURBINE IN THE THERMOELECTRIC PLANT. HOWEVER, IT IS POSSIBLE TO FURTHER INCREASE ITS EFFICIENCY, AS THE THREE EXISTING TURBINES CANNOT OPERATE SIMULTANEOUSLY.
