Abstract

THIS PROJECT IS AIMED AT DEVELOPING AN AUTOMATIC PROCESS FOR RESTORING CYLINDRICAL SURFACES WITH HIGH PRECISION, LOW OPERATING COST, PORTABILITY AND SAFETY. A PROTOTYPE WAS DEVELOPED, THAT IS, A SPECIFIC MACHINE, IN ORDER TO BE INSTALLED IN THE PLACE WHERE THE RESTORATION OF THE DAMAGED SURFACE WILL BE CARRIED OUT, AND WHICH AIMS AT DIDACTIC USE IN THE LABORATORY. THE QUALIFIED PROFESSIONAL (PH) MUST PERFORM AS MAIN FUNCTION TO FIX THE MACHINE IN THE WORK PLACE, INSERT THE INFORMATION OF THE SERVICE THAT INTENDS TO BE DONE, SOON AFTER, MUST VERIFY THE TOLERANCE AND ADJUSTMENT OF THE EQUIPMENT. PRECISION AND SAFETY CAME FROM AN INTEGRATED SYSTEM WITH DATA INTERFACE AND PRECISE CONTROL OVER THE OPERATION DURING MACHINING, TOGETHER WITH THE €ŒSHIELD V3€ SYSTEM COUPLED TO THE €ŒARDUINO UNO R3€ BOARD THROUGH THE UNIVERSAL G-CODE INTERFACE. SENDER (UGS), MUST ENTER THE INFORMATION, AVOIDING A POSSIBLE FAILURE, OR TOOL DAMAGE DURING MACHINING. THIS TYPE OF EQUIPMENT IS HARDLY KNOWN IN BRAZIL AND IT IS ONLY POSSIBLE TO FIND FOREIGN EQUIPMENT IN THE BRAZILIAN MARKET. THROUGHOUT THIS WORK, THE MECHANICAL DESIGN, COMPUTATIONAL MOTION TESTS, FINITE ELEMENT ANALYSIS (FAE), MESH PROJECTION, RENDERING AND PROTOTYPE CONSTRUCTION WERE DEVELOPED. IN VIEW OF THIS, A TEST WAS CARRIED OUT FOR DIDACTIC PURPOSES IN WHICH THE MACHINING OF A POLYVINYL CHLORIDE (PVC) TUBE WAS OBTAINED, IMPROVEMENTS WERE OBSERVED BOTH IN THE POSITIONING SYSTEM AND WORK ROTATION DURING MACHINING.
