Abstract

WATER IS A VITALLY IMPORTANT RESOURCE, BEING ESSENTIAL FOR THE SURVIVAL OF LIVING BEINGS. DUE TO THE SCARCITY OF THIS RESOURCE, WHICH IS ALREADY A PROBLEM IN SOME REGIONS, SUSTAINABLE PRACTICES FOR THE RATIONAL USE AND REUSE OF WATER HAVE BEEN IMPLEMENTED IN RECENT YEARS. THE OBJECTIVE OF THIS WORK IS TO CARRY OUT A STUDY ON THE CONDENSED WATER GENERATED BY AIR CONDITIONERS AND MAKE PROPOSALS FOR ITS CAPTURE AND REUSE, IN A SUSTAINABLE AND RATIONAL WAY. FOR THIS, THE WORK HAD AS A CASE STUDY METHOD, PERFORMING ESTIMATIVE CALCULATIONS OF THE MASS FLOW OF CONDENSED WATER GENERATED BY A KOMECO BRAND DEVICE WITH A CAPACITY OF 9,000 BTU/H, ON DIFFERENT DAYS AND TIMES. ACCORDING TO THE RESULTS, IT IS FEASIBLE TO PROPOSE A WATER CAPTURE SYSTEM, DUE TO THE LARGE AMOUNT OF CONDENSED WATER PRODUCED BY AIR CONDITIONERS, IT BECOMES A FEASIBLE PROJECT FOR BOTH SCHOOLS, COLLEGES, CONDOMINIUMS, COMMERCIAL AND RESIDENTIAL BUILDINGS. WITH THE CHANNELING OF THIS WATER, IT IS POSSIBLE TO REUSE IT IN SEVERAL WAYS, SUCH AS: IRRIGATION OF GARDENS, WASHING OF SIDEWALKS, WINDOWS, CARS.
