Abstract

This study aimed to determine the pathologies present in the asphalt pavement of a 200-meter section of Avenida Brazil, located in Goianésia - GO. Using the Global Severity Index (IGG) method, field inspections and analyses were conducted to identify and catalog the existing defects. The identified pathologies included alligator cracking, longitudinal cracks, potholes, and patches. The IGG calculation revealed that the studied section had an index of 121, classifying the pavement as in "poor condition" according to the DNIT 006/2003 standard. This result indicated an urgent need for interventions to restore the quality and safety of the road.
