REVISÃO DE DADOS ESTATÀSTICOS SOBRE SUICÀDIO EM IDOSOS
Abstract
 
O SUIC�DIO PODE SER DEFINIDO POR UM ATO, ATIVO OU PASSIVO, PRATICADO PELO INDIV�DUO CONTRA SI MESMO COM FINALIDADE DE TIRAR SUA PRÓPRIA VIDA (PEREIRA & CARDOSO, 2015). O COMPORTAMENTO SUICIDA ENVOLVE IDEIAS, DESEJOS E MANIFESTA��ES DA INTEN��O DE QUERER MORRER, PLANEJAMENTO DO ATO. O RISCO DE SUIC�DIO ABRANGE DESDE A IDEA��O SUICIDA AT� TENTATIVAS COMETIDAS (ORES ET AL., 2012).
OS COMPORTAMENTOS AUTOLESIVOS E O SUIC�DIO SÃO UM INCONTORN�VEL PROBLEMA DE SAÚDE PÚBLICA EM N�VEL MUNDIAL. SEGUNDO A OMS (2014), MAIS DE 800 MIL PESSOAS COMETEM SUIC�DIO ANUALMENTE, ENQUANTO QUE DE 10 A 20 MILH�ES TENTAM O ATO. A ESTAT�STICA � DE QUE O SUIC�DIO POSSUI UM �NDICE DE 16 MORTES PARA 100 MIL HABITANTES, SENDO UMA MORTE A CADA 40 SEGUNDOS. ESTÁ ENTRE AS 10 MAIORES CAUSAS DE MORTE NO MUNDO E APRESENTOU UM AUMENTO DE 60% NOS �LTIMOS ANOS. ENTRE JOVENS ADULTOS, � A SEGUNDA MAIOR CAUSA DE MORTE.
